The study session was supposed to be simple. Notes, coffee, maybe a joke or two. But somewhere between the flashcards and the laughter, the air changed. Her feet slipped out of her shoes, bare against the cold floor, and suddenly it wasn’t about equations anymore. It was about control and how fast she was losing it. Her laughter broke the silence like a secret she didn’t mean to tell. By the time she caught her breath, her notes were a mess and so was she. Turns out, the only thing she learned that night was how fast a smart girl can fall apart.

But tears never came, only more laughter, raw and desperate, spilling out of her like she was cursed to keep going forever.

But her laugh was the price, her dignity the offering. The tickle gods don’t take no for an answer. They got their tribute, and Selene gave it loud.
