Harper is one of those friends who you can always count on to know the answer to a random science fact. Like, you’ll be eating chips and suddenly she’s explaining the molecular difference between sea salt and table salt. She’s reserved, booksmart, endlessly curious, and somehow still manages to have this cute, bubbly energy about her.
So naturally, she eventually found out about my little “hobby.”
One day, she casually said, “I know you like to tickle people… but I honestly don’t know how I’d react. I think it’s only happened to me once in my life.”
I couldn’t believe that she’s only been tickled once in her life.
She just shrugged with her little scientist smile and said, “Guess we’ll have to test it.”
Boom. That’s how I found myself running the very first Harper Tickle Experiment. For science, of course.
Harper was very interested in my stocks, or tickle device, as she called it. She asked me many questions about it before I was able to get her ankles locked in and her toes tied.
When I started with her feet, she was analyzing. Her eyes narrowed a little, she tilted her head, and I could almost see the gears turning as if she was mentally cataloging sensations: Pressure applied on the sole s. Stimulus triggers micro spasms. Interesting.
But then I hit a sweet spot. With the right tool and technique. For Harper, it’s oiled soles, a firm circular motion using a brush. This is her tickle trigger.
She let out this sudden burst of laughter, caught completely off guard.
Turns out, Harper’s got some very ticklish weak points. And once I found them, she couldn’t keep her little scientific composure anymore.
Harper isn’t unbearably ticklish, but she’s the type of woman that you can tickle for hours, and she won’t ask you to stop. She’ll just smile, laugh, and have a lot of fun.
